About the Role
Haringey Council is currently seeking an Application Infrastructure Team Leader to join our Digital and Change Business Unit within the Culture, Strategy and Engagement Directorate. As an Application Infrastructure Team Leader, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the business objectives of your designated team that will contribute to the achievement of the Council’s priorities and corporate objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring delivery of a high-quality user experience, including fit-for-purpose systems, and high standards of access, availability, usability, usefulness and excellent standards of service.
- Providing effective management of the application team members and the Packaging team that will contribute to the continuous improvement of the Council.
- Supporting the planning and allocation of resources within the Applications Management team.
- Inspiring creativity and flexibility in the management and application of IT.

About You
We are seeking individuals who are strong communicators with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of current developments in the application of Information Systems and is able to assimilate and interpret advice from specialists – technical or otherwise.. Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong working knowledge of NEC Housing System and Service Connect.
- Familiar with packaging application packaging (e.g. Wise Studio InstallShield and or Flexera AdminStudio) ; application virtualisation technology i.e. Microsoft App-V (Application Virtualisation) sequencing.
- Profiling and Publishing Citrix applications
- VMware (Virtual Machine) environment.
- Use of scripting languages e.g. VBScripting (Visual Basic Scripting), PowerShell and AutoIt.
- MSIs (Microsoft Installer type files).
- Group Policy Configuration and Maintenance
- Knowledge of applications like App-DNA for assisting in upgrade analysis and Xperf (Microsoft Performance Analyser) and Process Monitor for trouble-shooting applications.
- Proficient in understanding the products and services supplied to the organisation by external suppliers. Examples: Maintenance of IT infrastructure, maintenance of IT applications, internet connectivity services, system development, software products, security solutions.
- Proficient in understanding the business environment relating to the organisation and closely associated organisations, including suppliers, partners and other public sector organisations.
- Proficient in understanding the IT / IS infrastructure, operating systems, configurations and the IT applications and service processes used within the organisation.
- Familiar with the application of automated systems to the support of specific business functions or processes including an understanding of the DEVOPS approach where development and operational staff work together.
- Familiar with techniques for identifying, gathering and validating users’ needs in the delivery of digital services.
- Familiar with the purpose and composition of a service level agreement (SLA); the relationship between an SLA, an Operational Level Agreement (OLA) and an underpinning contract for the supply of services.
- Familiar with methods and techniques for managing contracts to ensure that suppliers adhere to agreed contract requirements.
- Familiar with methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the serious disruption of digital services.
- Familiar with corporate, industry and professional standards, policies, regulations, compliance and codes of conduct associated with the role.
- Proficient in techniques for identifying, gathering and validating users’ needs in the delivery of digital services.
- Proficient in understanding the purpose and composition of a service level agreement (SLA); the relationship between an SLA, an Operational Level Agreement (OLA) and an underpinning contract for the supply of services.
- Is fully responsible for meeting allocated technical and / or project / supervisory objectives.
- Builds appropriate and effective business relationships
- Understands the relationship between own specialism and wider organisational requirements
