I am looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join my client, a leading London Market insurer based in the City. This role includes developing and automating actuarial and finance processes, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with IFRS17, GAAP, and Solvency II Technical Provisions. This role requires strong data management, SQL, and automation skills to enhance actuarial reserving, financial reconciliation, and reporting processes leveraging the Azure Cloud environment.

Experience required:

  • 3+ years of experience working with actuarial and finance departments in an insurance company.
  • Experience with various regulatory reporting regimes (GAAP, IFRS17, SII) (desirable).
  • Experience working with SAP data (desirable).
  • Strong MS SQL Server, Excel & Access skills; experience with VBA, R, or Python is a plus.
  • Experience with Azure cloud-based systems (desirable).
  • Knowledge of ResQ or similar actuarial reserving tools (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, database design, and cloud-based data environments.
  • Experience with data reconciliation, automation, and financial reporting processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across actuarial, finance, and operations teams.
