Infrastructure Engineer | Network Focus, Windows Servers, Office 365 | Growing IT Function Remote first with an expectation to attend the Chester office once a month (expenses paid) Our client provides software and services across legal, health & safety, employment law, ISO regulation, and cybersecurity sectors. They have an established Core IT Team of 5, expanding to 13 this year, working together on a company-wide IT standardisation strategy covering CRM, ERP, and core systems. With ongoing growth through acquisitions, there are plenty of IT infrastructure projects focused on integrating and migrating newly acquired firms into the central environment, an exciting time to join and make an impact You will be a key member of the infrastructure team, working across network infrastructure, Windows server environments, and Office 365 support. Your responsibilities will include managing firewall and routing configurations, supporting and maintaining on-premises Windows servers. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical depth and a flexible attitude to assist with various infrastructure support tasks. Networking fundamentals including routing, switching, firewall management, and VPNs (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA preferred) Experience supporting and maintaining Windows Server environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, file and print services) Office 365 administration and support (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) Troubleshooting network and server issues with tools like Wireshark, TCPDump, NetFlow Experience integrating on-premise infrastructure with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud networking principles) Familiarity with LAN/WAN architectures, load balancing, and network performance optimisation Automation or scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, Ansible) Certifications such as MCSA, CCNA, CCNP, or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation Experience supporting IT infrastructure in a multi-site environment Typical Projects & Responsibilities: Support and maintain Windows servers and Active Directory infrastructure Provide Office 365 user support and administration, including mailbox management and collaboration tools Monitor network and server performance, troubleshoot incidents and ensure high availability Participate in integration and migration projects for acquired companies’ IT systems What it takes to succeed: 25 days holiday plus your birthday off ~ Health cash plan ~ Life assurance ~ Gym allowance ~ Pension scheme ~If you want to join a fast-growing IT function with lots of variety and opportunity, get in touch today.
