Sign-on Bonus: For a limited time, MaineHealth is offering up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for all eligible new graduate Registered Nurses!
Eligibility: Candidates hired (offer accepted) into a full or part-time RN position are eligible. Bonus is prorated for part-time hires; per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth employees are ineligible; former employees are ineligible until more than 6 months after separation.
Unit Description: P3CD is a high-paced 29-bed Medical Surgical unit providing exceptional care for adult patients before and after surgical procedures. Our team emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and outcomes, fostering a culture of teamwork, communication, compassionate care, and cultural sensitivity. We support shared governance and professional development.
Shift Details: This is a full-time night shift position with a 36-hour schedule, consisting of three 12-hour shifts.
Position Summary: The Clinical Nurse supports Maine Medical Center\’s mission, vision, and values through excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, patient and family-centered care, community commitment, and accountability. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, documentation, and evaluation of nursing care, beginning with initial contact and continuing across the care continuum in inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and community settings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred. Must enroll in a BSN program within five years of hire and complete it within one year.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Maine RN license.
- Experience: No experience required; caring for geriatric patients preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing practices, principles, and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical skills to monitor patient conditions and respond appropriately.

- Progression to Clinical Nurse II is possible after 12 months, contingent on performance.
