We are seeking a creative and organized Senior Learning & Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing engaging and informative educational materials for our customers. The Senior Learning & Development Specialist develops and creates content for self-paced online learning, including lesson plans, curriculum, online content and other resources. This position may also contribute to the development of other knowledge content, such as internal and external articles, manuals, release notes, and help files. Our ideal candidate has a solid understanding of best practices in instructional design and experience in content development for educational platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze data and stakeholder input to understand business objectives and training needs
- Define course objectives, scope, and sequence
- Select instructional strategies, delivery media, and assessment methods
- Develop comprehensive educational materials, including lesson plans, modules, quizzes and multimedia content
- Write course content and audio scripts, record narration, and capture screenshots and video for self-paced online courses
- Use and manage e-learning platforms, learning management systems, and content creation tools
- Create, configure, test, and troubleshoot self-paced online courses
- Use HTML and CSS to modify online course and content formatting
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to create content that is accurate, relevant, consistent with required workflows, and up to date with product specifications
- Prepare and present project plans and status reports
- Review internal and external written knowledge content, such as articles, manuals, release notes, and help files
Availability: This is a hybrid role, with up to two days in office, to facilitate brainstorming and team building. Our office is located across from Guildford Mall, in Surrey, BC.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of instructional design principles to create effective and engaging learning experiences
- Demonstrated understanding of training best practices and learner assessment methods
- Experience using and administering content creation and learning management system software
- Excellent writing and content editing skills, with strong attention to detail
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Good project management skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Basic proficiency with HTML and CSS

The posted range for this position is between CAD $89,250 - CAD $108,375 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient and experienced in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, training, current skills, certifications & education etc.
