We built Australia’s Collins Class submarines, sustain the Collins Class fleet, and have been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines in Australia. To deliver on this new work, ASC are seeking experienced Production Planner to live, work and learn about building nuclear-powered submarines in Barrow, United Kingdom (UK). This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to further your career and professional capabilities through collaborations and upskilling with world-leading industry partners. Placements are available for August/September 2025 will be 18 – 24 months in duration. Responsibilities As a Production Planner you will: Advise and document on the detailed sequence and steps required for production personnel to undertake complex scope. Generate production work orders in an efficient manner in line with business and work group priorities. Ensure all work produced is compliant with nominated processes, routines and workflows. Conduct detailed reviews of Engineering specifications, documentation, work instructions and recommendations from applicable planning systems and other applicable information. Eligibility Criteria The successful applicant must possess: Australian Citizenship Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline or trade qualification. 1-5 years\’ experience (desirable) An ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance Ability to interpret complex engineering specifications, documentation, recommendations and work instructions. Proficient in the use of Microsoft office, Word and Excel. Additional Details Once deployed, you will be immersed into the processes and procedures ultimately required to construct the SSN-AUKUS submarines in Australia. You will receive a tailored development plan, giving you exposure to world-class submarine programs, and informed of specific rotations you will complete whilst in Barrow to further enhance your capabilities in submarine design and build. At the completion of your deployment, you will return to South Australia (SA) to carry out the planning, management and build activities on the SSN-AUKUS Submarines at the Osborne Shipyard. Repatriation to SA is non-negotiable, so please consider this when applying. Please note: This is a Civilian role and recruitment processes will differ from those undertaken in Active Service Defence recruitment.
