We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of an Education Welfare Officer on a 3month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay : 20.34 25.15 per hour Summary: As part of an integrated Education Welfare Team the Education Welfare Officer (EWO) works collaboratively with schools families and partner agencies to promote regular school attendance and enforce statutory responsibilities. The role includes safeguarding supporting vulnerable pupils legal enforcement and advising on child employment and performance licensing. Responsibilities: Monitor and analyze school attendance identifying persistent absenteeism. Advise headteachers and school staff on attendance strategies and legislative requirements. Investigate poor attendance cases through home visits and liaison with families. Maintain knowledge of education legislation including Ofsted standards. Support court proceedings: prepare statements compile documentation and attend court. Requirements: Educated to Level 4 or equivalent. Fluent spoken and written English for public interaction. Full driving license and ability to travel within the borough. Experience working in partnership with schools and agencies. Strong communication negotiation and conflictresolution skills. Competency in interpreting and advising on complex legislation. Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
