Take a closer look at the role: Job Description As Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in supporting the legal and commercial operations of the Cadillac Formula 1 Team. You will work closely with the Chief Legal Officer, Senior Legal Counsel and various departments across the organisation to deliver sound legal guidance that supports our competitive and commercial ambitions. Key responsibilities include: · Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts including goods, services and manufacturing agreements, consultancy agreements, letters of engagement, licensing and sponsorship agreements. · Drafting and negotiating NDAs with potential suppliers and working closely with the purchasing team. · Dealing with ad-hoc enquiries from across the business and providing commercially minded legal advice and support. · Supporting with managing and exploiting intellectual property rights of the team including trademarks, copyright and proprietary racing technologies. · Supporting on property and construction matters. · Assisting in dispute resolution and contract enforcement when necessary. · Supporting in the delivery of training and internal guidance to ensure legal awareness across the business. · Developing internal policies and ensuring legal compliance across all areas of team operations. Requirements Essential Qualifications & Experience: · Qualified solicitor or barrister with a right to practise in England and Wales. · 1–3 years PQE, preferably in a commercial department of a law firm or a commercial in-house legal team. · Proven ability to draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts. · Strong understanding of English law, particularly commercial, IP, and contract law. · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non-lawyers. Desirable Experience: · Experience in motorsport or other sports sectors. · Understanding of FIA governance and the business model of Formula 1. · Knowledge of data protection regulations. · Experience of working successfully in a team in high-pressure environments with competing deadlines.
