Location: Manchester / Hybrid (3 days per week in office)
Salary Range: £44,000 - £57,000 (plus Company Bonus paid in two instalments, every 6 months)
ABOUT YOU
The Affiliate Account Director is a senior role within our team, responsible for leading the affiliate marketing strategies of high-value clients. This position blends strategic oversight with hands-on management, focusing on measurable performance, client retention, and long-term growth. Acting as a key member of the Account Management team, the Account Director provides expert guidance to both clients and partner agencies, developing tailored affiliate strategies that align with broader business KPIs.
Candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience in affiliate account management, at least two years working with or within an agency environment, and ideally some experience managing people or mentoring junior team members.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take full ownership of agency client relationships, becoming their trusted partner by leading regular meetings, strategic planning sessions, and affiliate days.
- Actively listen to agency needs and challenges, providing tailored support to drive sustainable growth - always guided by the broader knowledge and leadership of the Webgains senior team.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with key affiliate partners to deliver innovative, high-performing campaigns. Use these relationships to unlock growth opportunities across your client portfolio and ensure Webgains is positioned as a valuable partner to both agencies and publishers.
- Lead with confidence and integrity, making decisions that reflect Webgains’ commercial goals as well as our commitment to social and environmental best practices.
- Oversee the growth and strategic development of the agency account management team. Ensure high standards in client service, strong internal collaboration, and long-term satisfaction across all agency partnerships.
- Deliver proactive, solutions-focused support to agency clients - escalating challenges where needed and always seeking ways to add value. Act as an advocate for both agency clients and publisher partners.
- Set the strategic direction for the agency portfolio, developing and implementing growth plans to achieve and exceed monthly performance targets.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, such as Quarterly Performance Planning (QPMs), and maintain visibility and engagement through networking and industry event attendance.
- Collaborate closely with the Sales team to identify key partnership opportunities, shape new business pitches, and present compelling case studies to agency senior decision-makers.
- Negotiate high-value, bespoke opportunities for Webgains’ agency portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment and commercial impact across all activations.
- Take overall responsibility for the commercial performance and profitability (P&L) of agency team accounts. Provide clear leadership and commercial oversight to account managers working within the agency structure.
- Drive client acquisition and strategic distribution within the agency portfolio, identifying high-potential opportunities and ensuring appropriate team resource allocation.
- Support the continuous development of the account management team through structured training sessions, coaching, and hands-on leadership-ensuring high performance and client service excellence.
- Prioritise the wellbeing, growth, and success of your team. Lead with empathy and clarity, maintaining a culture of accountability, support, and ongoing learning.
