The HR Systems Technical Analyst (UK) is responsible for the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of changes to HR systems and processes. The role bridges the gap between HR operations, IT, and other business areas to ensure that business needs are clearly understood, translated into functional and technical requirements, and delivered effectively. The HR Systems Technical Analyst will lead various stages of the project lifecycle, manage system integrations, provide technical support, and ensure that the HR systems are optimised to meet business objectives. Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service) Your role 1. Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather, document, and analyse business requirements for changes to existing HR systems and processes. Conduct detailed analysis of the current state of HR systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiencies. Translate business needs into clear, detailed system and process designs that define the future state. Work across multiple systems and user groups to evaluate the impact of proposed changes on existing workflows. Support stakeholders by creating comprehensive business cases, process maps, and system documentation. 2. Functional and Technical Design Collaborate with functional and technical teams to create detailed design proposals that meet business requirements. Ensure that all designs, whether delivered internally or through third-party providers, meet the agreed business and functional needs. Provide technical expertise to support solution architects, development teams, and system integrators in the creation of specifications and configurations. Lead workshops with business users and technical teams to clarify design decisions and validate that technical solutions align with business expectations. Review technical designs and validate that system modifications align with HR processes, data governance, and compliance requirements. 3. Testing Lead and participate in all stages of the testing process, including test planning, execution, and reporting. Collaborate with IT testing teams to develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and scripts, ensuring all business requirements are met. Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from initial planning to final sign-off, ensuring end-users are engaged and systems meet their needs. Assist with Systems Integration Testing (SIT), ensuring seamless communication and data flow between HR systems and other business systems. Provide detailed reports on testing outcomes and drive resolution of defects and issues. 4. Project Management and Implementation Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to go-live, ensuring that project deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and budget. Work closely with the project team to monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders. Coordinate and liaise with third-party vendors, internal IT, and HR teams to ensure smooth implementation and integration of system changes. Lead post-implementation reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure continuous optimisation of HR systems. Facilitate the handover of new functionalities to business users and technical support teams, including the creation of user guides and documentation. 5. Continuous Improvement and Strategic Initiatives Stay updated with the latest HR technologies, best practices, and regulatory changes in the UK to ensure the HR systems remain compliant and efficient. Identify opportunities to optimise HR systems and processes, proposing and implementing solutions that improve user experience, reduce costs, or enhance data quality. Actively participate in strategic HR and IT initiatives, contributing to the ongoing improvement of HR system capabilities and supporting the company’s broader business goals.You can bring your whole self to work. Your skills and experience Technical Expertise Strong understanding of HR systems, including core HR, payroll, benefits, and talent management modules. Experience with SAP SuccessFactors required Proficiency in systems integration, data migration, and data management processes, with experience handling large datasets and data quality initiatives. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and data security principles, ensuring HR systems are secure and compliant with GDPR and other relevant UK regulations. Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills Proven experience conducting business and systems analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and gap analysis. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root causes. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically, with attention to detail in developing solutions. Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement Experience managing HR system projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including experience in managing project timelines, budgets, and resources.Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work closely with HR professionals, IT teams, and senior management. Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving successful project outcomes. Experience managing external vendors in the delivery of system changes or upgrades. Communication and Documentation Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical stakeholders. Experience creating detailed system documentation, user guides, and training materials. Excellent presentation skills, capable of delivering updates and proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences. Your security clearance To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required.
