Correspondent, The Insurer – Reuters This position is based in our London bureau. Are you a sharp, fast-moving reporter with a passion for financial news? Want to cover one of the most dynamic and globally significant sectors in the financial world? If so, this could be your next move. The Insurer , a market-leading specialty (re)insurance news, analysis, and data service published by Reuters , is looking for a Correspondent to join its team in London. You’ll be part of a newsroom that delivers exclusive, high-impact journalism to a global audience of financial professionals. The Insurer’s coverage focuses on underwriting and distribution in the complex risk space, as well as the capital, infrastructure, and services that support it. From cyber threats to climate risk, we report on the forces shaping the future of the global economy, and the insurance and reinsurance markets that underpin it. About the Role As a Correspondent at The Insurer , you will: Deliver fast, accurate reporting: Cover breaking news and developments in the (re)insurance and financial services sectors. Use data to drive stories: Support your reporting with data insights and identify trends worth covering. Write across formats: Produce news, analysis, and interviews for our digital platforms and Reuters’ global feed. Build a strong contacts base: Develop relationships with key industry players to generate exclusive leads. Collaborate with colleagues: Work closely with other reporters and editors on major stories and projects. Interview senior executives: Confidently engage with C-suite leaders and industry experts. About You You’re a fit for the Correspondent role if your background includes: Demonstrable experience as a journalist reporting on financial news A strong ability to explain complex topics clearly and concisely for a professional audience. A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for team-based journalism Experience covering (re)insurance is preferred but not essential. Embracing multimedia: Experience with video, audio, or visual storytelling is a plus. An interest in AI tools: A willingness to use AI to enhance reporting and newsroom efficiency is a must.
