Japanese speaking Communications Officer

A global Japanese company is currently recruiting a Communications Officer to work in their London office.
In this role, you will be responsible for sustainability, CSR, and communications (both internal & external). You will work proactively and autonomously on certain tasks, and in close tandem with other members of the department on others.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in a relevant subject, strong communication skills, professional level English and Japanese, and knowledge of corporate sustainability.

Communications Officer Main Responsibilities:
- Update the regional intranet and utilise other forms of communication to provide necessary information to staff
- Monitor external email communications and handle enquiries appropriately
- Curate and distribute the daily internal company newsletter
- Update the regional website and associated communication with Head Office
- Plan and execute employee town hall meetings on a regular basis
- Support any other communications related responsibilities of the department
- Contribute to regional company philanthropic activities through the role of Programme Officer, including administrative work, communication with foundation partners, preparation for trustee meetings, and any other necessary assistance to the Programme Manager and the department
- Contribute to other CSR related projects as necessary
- Contribute to the department\’s intelligence gathering and reporting on key areas of interest for the company, through the production of regular and ad hoc internal reports
- Contribute to projects in specific areas of sustainability according to the needs of the department such as climate change, human rights, nature
- Translation from Japanese to English and checking of English internal materials and external disclosure documents
- Give presentations about the company and its policies/initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
- Plan and manage office-wide employee events
- Support the department\’s day-to-day administrative tasks
Communications Officer Ideal Candidate:
- Degree (or overseas equivalent) in a relevant subject
- Strong communicator able to develop effective professional relationships
- Professional level English and Japanese, with both written and verbal language skills
- Current knowledge of, or interest in, corporate sustainability
- Highly organised in handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and to deadlines
- Able to work autonomously whilst being a strong team player
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience working in a Japanese corporate environment
- Experience of research and preparing content for reports
