Support commercial control on one of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes. We’re seeking a Cost Engineer to join the project controls team on a nationally significant transport and infrastructure scheme. This role offers the opportunity to work in a structured, high-performing consultancy environment — with direct involvement in cost management, performance reporting, and supporting commercial decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate cost performance data and monthly reporting in line with programme requirements
- Support cost forecasting, accruals, and earned value analysis
- Assist in change control, including assessment of cost impacts and coordination with commercial teams
- Prepare data and reports for client dashboards, senior management, and project reviews
- Work closely with planning, risk, and commercial colleagues to ensure full cost integration
- Ensure data integrity, audit trails, and compliance with governance processes
What You Bring
- Experience working as a Cost Engineer or Cost Analyst on major infrastructure or engineering projects
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with cost management systems (e.g. Prism, EcoSys, SAP, CEMAR)
- Knowledge of earned value, cost forecasting, and change control processes
- Understanding of NEC contracts is beneficial and project lifecycle cost flows
- High attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets and reporting packs
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
