The position requires that the successful candidate possess or obtain within six months of hire at least a Grade 4M Massachusetts Wastewater Operator License, on the job training and classes will be provided. Candidate will also be required to possess or obtain a 2A and 3A Massachusetts Hoisting License within the first six months of hire. Training will be provided. Responsibilities (not a complete list of duties) oversight and operation of treatment plant equipment making adjustments to plant processes to maintain permit compliance recording readings of instruments and plant equipment operation of the sludge thickening process oversight of chemical deliveries assisting other departments as needed Skills and Abilities minimum high school diploma interpret process data and make adjustments to maintain permit compliance work well in a team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently be safety conscious use a computer to access and make changes in SCADA, perform data entry into the process control computer software database, etc. understand/execute written and oral instructions and read/understand technical instructions and manuals operate equipment specific to Departmental needs and requirements, after receiving training complete physical tasks, including but not limited to, pulling or lifting 50 lbs, climbing a ladder and performing confined space entry Weekend, holiday shifts and on-call are required, additional compensation will be provided. Hourly rate ranges from $23/hour – $30/hour and will be based upon experience and qualifications. Valid driver’s license required.
