The appointment can be full-time or part-time; applications for job sharing are welcome. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Pleural, Lung Cancer, and Interventional Bronchoscopy team at OUH. The Oxford Pleural Unit is internationally renowned, leading in research, training, and clinical innovation. It is one of the most clinically active units in the UK, performing numerous pleural biopsies and maintaining strong links to clinical trials and research units. The lung cancer team is forward-thinking, implementing the nationally recognized REDS cancer pathway at the Community Diagnostic Centre. The unit collaborates closely with Thoracic Surgical colleagues to perform procedures like ultrasound-guided techniques, thoracoscopy, rigid bronchoscopy, stenting, endobronchial valves, and navigational bronchoscopy. OUH is developing new pathways with AI and nodule follow-up, and has recently launched a Targeted Lung Health Check Programme. This position primarily focuses on pleural sub-specialty work, including clinical procedures, research, quality improvement, service development, and education. It will also involve collaboration with the lung cancer team and the Respiratory Early Diagnostic Service. Contributions to research at the University of Oxford are encouraged.
