Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MIS Junior Engineer to join our MIS team in the Harrogate/Leeds area. This role primarily involves providing technical support to end-users, managing service tickets, setting up new user accounts, and resolving hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate has a passion for or experience in IT support and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as the first point of contact for end-user technical support requests, ensuring timely and effective resolution
- Manage and resolve service tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues
- Set up and configure new user accounts, including email, access permissions, and necessary software installations
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain laptops, desktops, printers, and other peripheral devices
- Assist in the deployment and maintenance of software applications and updates
- Utilize remote management tools to provide support to remote users, ensuring seamless technical assistance regardless of location
- Document technical issues and solutions to contribute to the knowledge base
- Collaborate with the Global Information Security team to ensure compliance with security protocols
Key Requirements:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Multiple years of experience in IT support, internships, academic projects, or self-study
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems
- Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and common IT support tools
- Basic understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with laptop hardware components and experience in basic hardware repair and maintenance
- Experience using remote management tools to support remote users effectively
