We are seeking a highly motivated orthoptist to join a team of 11 Orthoptists (9.6wte), alongside Consultant Ophthalmologists, optometrists, clinical nurse specialists, and ophthalmic technicians.
Requirements include a degree/diploma in Orthoptics and registration with the HCPC (or working towards/returning to practice). Newly qualified orthoptists are welcome to apply at a band 5 level.
The role involves a varied caseload including paediatric ophthalmology clinics, ocular motility and botulinum toxin clinics, neuro-ophthalmology, stroke, and trauma patients. The department is accredited for orthoptic undergraduate placements and is actively involved in teaching medical students, junior doctors, and pre-registration optometrists. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
