The Business Systems Analyst – Sales & Marketing is a pivotal role that focuses on gathering, analysing, and documenting requirements specifically related to sales and marketing systems. This role involves working closely with stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions meet the needs of the sales and marketing teams, drive business objectives, and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with sales, marketing, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and gather detailed system requirements for sales and marketing tools (e.g., CRM systems, marketing automation platforms, analytics tools).
- Business Process Analysis: Analyse existing sales and marketing processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement or automation through technology.
- System Requirements Definition: Define detailed system requirements for sales and marketing platforms, including CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation systems, analytics platforms, and reporting tools.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams, software vendors, and business units to ensure that sales and marketing systems meet user needs.
- Documentation: Create clear and concise documentation, including epics, user stories, use cases, requirements specifications, process flows, and system functionality documents.
- Testing and Validation: Assist in the development of test cases and testing procedures for new or updated sales and marketing systems.
- Prioritisation: Help prioritise system requirements based on business needs, resource availability, and the potential business impact.
- Communication and Change Management: Provide clear, timely communication to finance stakeholders regarding system changes, expected impacts, timelines, and training.
- Reporting and Analytics: Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that sales and marketing provide accurate and actionable reports and analytics.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business analysis or a related field.
- Experience with Salesforce and CRM Systems; Salesforce certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with business analysis tools and techniques (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio).
- Knowledge of industry-standard methodologies and frameworks (e.g., BABOK, BPMN).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred.
- Finance / Accountancy certification is preferred.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Proactive approach to identifying and solving problems.
- Strong influencing skills, particularly around MVP delivery, to drive incremental change.
