Overview
Independent Financial Advisor – Portsmouth at TC Professional Services (TC Group). This is a full-time, permanent role based in Portsmouth with hybrid working options.
Salary/bonus: competitive market rate salary plus bonus. Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working. Holiday: 23 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays) increasing by one day per year of service (up to 28 days).

About The Independent Financial Advisor Role
We are TC Group, a growing top 20 UK accountancy firm. We provide holistic financial planning and advisory services to ambitious business owners and their businesses. We have an exciting opportunity for an Independent Financial Adviser in our Portsmouth office. Working alongside the Director of Financial Planning, you will be responsible for providing holistic financial advice across investment planning, company investments, inheritance tax planning, pension, life and protection. This is a pure advisory role; full para-planning and administration will be provided, as well as an existing client base to nurture. Client meetings will take place using Teams and face-to-face. You may be asked to travel to appointments and cover other TC offices, so a driving licence and car are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing contact with potential clients and developing appropriate business relationships.
- Reviewing existing clients’ circumstances and addressing matters in line with company standards.
- Constructing appropriate solutions based on best advice; producing reports and recommendations to company standards and implementing solutions as agreed with clients.
- Ensuring high standards of client care by demonstrating sound competence in all stages of the advisory process.
Client meetings may be conducted via Teams or in person. A driving licence and car are required for travel to appointments and potential cover of other TC offices.
Qualifications and Skills
- Fully qualified Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning / Financial Advisers – working towards Chartered, ideally.
- Previous experience working with accountants is an advantage.
- Experience building long-term client relationships.
- Ability to self-manage and communicate confidently with TC Partners and other areas of the business.
- Technically proficient with a good knowledge of tax planning strategies for personal and company structures.
- Holistic knowledge across protection, pension and investment planning.
- Organised and professional.
