What’s the Job?
As Soft Fruit Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day growing operations across their strawberry production. You’ll work closely with the Farm Director and other department leads to deliver excellent yields, while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across their 150ac operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full growing cycle of soft fruit crops (strawberries, raspberries etc.)
- Coordinating the irrigation, harvest, husbandry, and tunnel teams.
- Monitoring crop health, irrigation and feeding regimes, working closely with external agronomists.
- Supporting pest and disease monitoring and control (in collaboration with the technical team)
- Managing labour planning and work schedules during peak harvest periods.
- Working with the wider team to drive improvements in productivity, quality, and sustainability.
What do I Need?
You could be a current soft fruit manager or a skilled team leader/supervisor with a strong background in soft fruit and ready for more responsibility. Either way, we want to hear from you.
- Experience in commercial soft fruit production.
- Knowledgeable in crop production, harvesting and planning.
- Comfortable leading people and motivating teams.
- Hands-on and not afraid to roll up your sleeves.
- Organised, with a focus on planning, problem-solving and doing things the right way.
- Ideally, you’ll have your PA1 and PA6, along with other relevant certificates.
