Role Summary This role is based in the Haywards Heath Engineering Office and will see you collaborating with Engineers based in both Haywards Heath and Maraimalai Nagar (MMN) India. You will be working alongside an additional Haywards Heath based Engineer plus a design team based in MMN with the aim completing tasks within the required time needed to support business activities, where demand and time pressure will fluctuate throughout the year. You will also support colleagues from the Applications Engineering and Project Management teams. This is an office-based role with the majority of your time spent at a computer. However, product training and production issue resolution will require visits to the site-based manufacturing shop floor. Responsibilities You will be working in Plug Valve Order Engineering team supporting: Valve Product Design – Responsibilities include collaborating, reviewing and approving valve design 3D models, 2D drawings and calculations against applicable valve standards, e.g. API 6D. Engineering Specification – Responsibilities include creating and revising Material Specifications, Production Specifications, Procurement Specifications, ITPs and Quality Plans in-line with customer expectations. Production Support Responsibilities include helping to support production related issues where Engineering is required to help Root Cause Analysis or review and approve production concession/dispositions Requirements A bachelors degree in an Engineering based discipline or equivalent Ability to perform 3D modelling and create 2D drawings using CAD based tools Ability to keep calm and work under pressure to meet time commitments. Confident and effective communicator and team collaborator with the ability to communicate effectively in English. Enthusiasm and ability to work and communicate with colleagues from other countries where English is not their first language e.g. India Good reading and comprehension skills plus a keen attention to detail to support the creation of Engineering documents based on customer product specifications Be proactive in seeking clarification and asking questions when necessary. Preferred Experience/Skills A Masters degree in an Engineering based discipline or equivalent 2 or more years prior experience in an Engineering based role An understanding of contents of API 6D & 6A Knowledge of material specifications, material test certificates and their content Familiarity with the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and how it relates to pressure vessels and their certification and testing requirements.
