We are looking for a Research Scientist to join the Nanopore Research Team. This exciting and challenging role will be responsible for accelerating our efforts to improve the performance of our baseline nanopores and will also contribute to the development of novel biological nanopores for an increasing range of applications, including protein sequencing.

The Details…

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, expression and purification, electrophysiological characterisation and the subsequent analysis of a range of nanopores.

What We\’re Looking For…

The candidate will be in possession of a BSc in biochemistry, physics, biology, chemistry or equivalent. Knowledge of protein structure, membrane proteins and their expression and purification would be advantageous. Furthermore, experience of using the Linux operating system, Python based data analysis and R is highly desirable.

Applications are encouraged from candidates who can adapt quickly to new challenges and enjoy working with an agile approach to research. The successful candidate will need to work meticulously to a high standard and be able to perform well under pressure to meet deadlines in a demanding and fast paced environment.
