Our customer, a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in the heart of Glasgow, is looking to recruit a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our growing team.
With over 60 high-calibre professionals in our city-centre office, the firm provides a full spectrum of advisory, compliance, and audit services to clients of all sizes across diverse industries.
The Role
As Payroll Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services to a wide portfolio of clients. Working as part of our dedicated payroll team, you will manage all aspects of payroll processing while providing an outstanding level of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a varied client base
- Managing auto-enrolment pension schemes and submissions
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements including RTI, SSP, SMP, and PAYE
- Preparing payroll journals and reports for clients
- Dealing with payroll queries in a professional and timely manner
- Liaising with HMRC and other third-party bodies when necessary
- Supporting clients through payroll year-end procedures
What Weβre Looking For
- Previous experience in a payroll processing role, ideally within a practice or bureau environment
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and HMRC compliance
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g. Sage Payroll)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Confident communicator with strong client service skills
- Ability to manage multiple client payrolls efficiently
