Research & Insight is a relatively small team, with a very large impact, looking to answer some of the most interesting questions out there. We move fast, we're always looking for new ideas and we're very transparent about the decisions we make and why we make them. There are so many questions we need to answer and plenty more we haven't even encountered. How do data and technology help restaurants to grow as consumer habits change? How can we predict what someone wants to order for dinner long before the idea has even crossed their mind? At Deliveroo, these are just some of the tough problems we are solving - and there is no challenge that cannot be yours. No solution is owned by a particular team, which means the scope for growth and personal impact is enormous.

The Role: As the most senior individual contributor in our User Research & Insights team, you'll be a strategic driver of how customer insight shapes decision-making at every level of the organisation. You'll serve as a trusted voice within a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-impact, structured insights that go beyond metrics - embedding the voice of the customer into future-facing strategies and performance evaluation. Your work will illuminate the moments that matter most, uncover opportunities for growth, and directly influence how Deliveroo wins with customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the delivery of robust, consistent insight reporting that informs and influences decision-making across the business.
  • Ensure insights go beyond surface metrics embedding a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviours into strategic planning and in-market execution.
  • Use a wide range of data sources, with a strong focus on quantitative analysis (SQL/Python/R experience desirable), to connect research findings with internal performance data (e.g. order volume, customer retention) and external benchmarks (e.g. market share).
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable stories - enabling stakeholders to make informed, customer-centric decisions.
  • Champion the use of self-serve research tools and dashboards, supporting a more insight-empowered culture across teams.
  • Present confidently to large audiences, both virtually and in-person, adapting your style to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Manage challenging stakeholders and be able to influence at a senior level.

What You'll Bring: You'll be a strategic thinker with a proven ability to influence decision-making through deep, data-led user insight. You have a strong track record of framing problems, identifying opportunity areas, and driving business action. You're confident working across mixed methods, with advanced quantitative skills and the ability to design and execute robust research programmes. You bring strong analytical thinking and conceptual agility, moving comfortably between granular data and the bigger picture. You can interrogate behavioural trends, triangulate with qualitative findings, and turn complex insights into clear, compelling stories that resonate with senior stakeholders.

Your curiosity extends to emerging technologies, including AI, with real-world examples of how you've used AI tools to enhance the research process - from insight generation to analysis. You're highly organised and thrive in fast-paced environments, always prioritising work that drives maximum impact. You have a passion for customer-centricity and take full ownership of the quality and influence of your insights. Finally, you're a confident communicator, skilled at crafting insight narratives that are not just rigorous but persuasive, helping shape how the business understands and serves its customers.

This is a high-visibility role, operating under Deliveroo's hybrid working policy (three days per week in our London HQ). Occasional travel to key global markets - including the UAE and France - will be required.

Benefits and Diversity: At Deliveroo, we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer many great benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation. We believe a great workplace is one that represents the world we live in and how beautifully diverse it can be. That means we have no judgement when it comes to any one of the things that make you who you are - your gender, race, sexuality, religion or a secret aversion to coriander. All you need is a passion for (most) food and a desire to be part of one of the fastest growing startups in an incredibly exciting space.
