The Bishop Fraser Trust is a family of four secondary and two primary schools across Bolton and Bury in Greater Manchester. The schools benefit from being very close together, so we all know each other well and enjoy each other’s commonalities and differences. We are at an exciting phase in our People strategy with key strategies in place that we are looking to embed and manage the impact on our school community. Are you a proactive, strategic HR professional with a passion for supporting education? In this pivotal role, you will help shape and deliver HR services across a network of schools, ensuring we continue to offer exceptional support to our staff and create an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing environment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on key parts of our People strategy and policy development, ensuring alignment with Trust goals and educational standards.
  • Provide expert advice on employee relations, performance management, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Support recruitment, retention, and training to develop a highly skilled workforce across the Trust.
  • Oversee HR administration, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices.
  • Foster a positive culture and strong relationships across all schools within the Trust.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to school leaders and senior management teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach to people management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work autonomously, and lead projects effectively.
