Status: Full Time, 35 hours/week, hourly non-exempt

Pay Rate: $25-29.50 hour based on experience
General Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance/Operations, and in conformance with the Personnel Policies and Procedures established by the Center for Dispute Settlement Board of Directors, the Bookkeeper is responsible for performing a variety of bookkeeping and clerical functions in connection with the day to day fiscal activities of the agency.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains in detail the Accounts Payable system by funds;
- Verifies and records all staff reimbursements;
- Validates all consultant(s) and stipend mediator(s) requests;
- Determines and maintains due dates for timely payments;
- Maintains an updated open invoice and payment file;
- Maintains in detail the Accounts Receivable system by funds;
- Records all cash receipts and makes regular bank deposits;
- Notifies the Director of all accounts aging over 90 days;
- Prepares reports for collection of bad debt;
- Maintains filing system for outstanding bills;
- Maintains monthly filing system for cash deposits and credit card;
- Records payroll and generates payment of payroll deduction obligations;
- Reconciles bank statements monthly;
- Prepares agency vouchers;
- Assists with the preparation of books for audit and other financial reports;
- Performs other responsibilities connected with the fiscal activities of the agency as assigned by the Director;
- Attends and participates in Center for Dispute Settlement staff meetings and activities;
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and bookkeeping;
- Working knowledge of principles of purchasing and inventory control;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- Ability to read, comprehend and apply agency rules and regulations;
- Initiative, tact and integrity;
- Proven ability to exercise confidentiality;
- Strong organizational and time management abilities with ability to work independently;
- Knowledge of Windows, Excel and basic computer technology associated with spreadsheets and other financial functions;
- Experience working with FundEZ preferred;
Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance plus one (1) year of work experience or any equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to indicate ability to perform the job.
