Are you an experienced social worker with a passion for safeguarding individuals experiencing domestic abuse? We're looking for a Locum Domestic Violence Social Worker to join a well established safeguarding team that works closely with partner agencies to support those at risk and break the cycle of abuse in the Stockport area.

This is a challenging but incredibly rewarding role, ideal for someone who thrives in crisis led environments, can build trust quickly, and understands the nuances of risk, trauma, and safety planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete risk assessments (including DASH) and develop robust safety plans
  • Work directly with individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, including emotional, physical, and coercive control cases
  • Liaise closely with police, IDVAs, MARAC, housing, legal teams, and children's services
  • Provide reports for child protection conferences and court proceedings where required
  • Advocate for victims, ensuring their voices are central to all decisions
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and ensure safeguarding protocols are followed at all times
To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:
  • BSc Social Work or equivalent
  • SWE registration
  • Experience working with victims of domestic abuse either within children's services, adult safeguarding, or specialist DV roles
  • Confidence working with high-risk cases and developing safety plans
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with agencies including the police, health, housing, and legal services
