Senior Practitioner – Safeguarding & Support Team (Walsall)

Walsall Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our dedicated Safeguarding & Support Team. This is a challenging and rewarding role for a social worker with expertise in safeguarding vulnerable adults.

About the Role:

Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on complex safeguarding cases involving adults at risk.Conduct thorough and timely assessments, developing and implementing effective safeguarding plans.Mentor and support junior social workers, promoting best practice and professional development.Lead on complex cases, often involving multiple agencies and challenging circumstances.Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making within the team.Contribute to service development and improvement initiatives, ensuring continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:

Registered with Social Care England.Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience as a qualified Social Worker. Significant experience in adult safeguarding is essential. Proven experience in a supervisory or advanced practice role is highly desirable.Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to adult safeguarding.Excellent assessment, communication, and case management skills.Ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable adults and their families.Commitment to person-centered practice and ethical standards.
