Quantity Surveyor - Ductwork / Building Services

Location: London and surrounding areasSalary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOEContract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Overview:We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in ductwork, HVAC or building services to join a growing contractor involved in commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of pre- and post-contract duties and experience managing project finances for ductwork or M&E packages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage project costs from initial estimates through to final accounts.

• Prepare and submit valuations, variations and interim applications.

• Liaise with operational teams to monitor project progress and forecast costs.

• Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Maintain accurate records and documentation to support commercial decisions.

• Ensure financial risks and opportunities are managed effectively.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a QS within the ductwork, HVAC or broader building services sector.

• Excellent commercial acumen and contract knowledge (JCT/NEC).

• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

• Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
