SF Recruitment are delighted to be working with an FMCG business in Birmingham in the recruitment of an Interim Commercial Finance Business Partner. As a key part of the finance team, you will work closely with commercial and operational leaders to provide financial analysis, challenge assumptions, and influence strategic direction. You will be responsible for reviewing and interpreting large volumes of complex data, turning it into meaningful insight that drives performance and profitability. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is essential, with exposure to FMCG highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with commercial and operational teams to support decision-making and long-term planning
  • Review and analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Deliver high-quality financial analysis and commentary to guide business performance
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with business objectives
  • Support product costing and margin analysis - experience in standard costing or manufacturing cost structures is a strong plus
  • Provide pricing support and assess financial impact of commercial initiatives
  • Build and maintain robust financial models to support scenario planning and investment appraisals
  • Present findings clearly to non-financial stakeholders to drive informed decision-making

About You

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) / Qualified By Experience
  • Significant experience in a Commercial Finance Business Partner or similar role
  • Solid background in a manufacturing environment; FMCG experience highly advantageous
  • Skilled in reviewing and analysing large datasets with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in costing or manufacturing cost structures is desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems and tools like Power BI is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and results-focused

This role is for an initial 6 months period and will be on a hybrid working basis. Applicants must live in the midlands to apply and remote contractors will not be considered.
