As part of a collaborative and high-performing team, you’ll work on some of the UK’s most important and complex programmes—supporting the design and delivery of commercial and procurement strategies that shape the future of government operations.

The Role:

  • Shaping Commercial Strategy: Develop robust and innovative procurement and commercial strategies, including commercial structures, payment and incentivisation mechanisms, lotting strategies, and routes to market.
  • Designing Procurement Approaches: Draft market-facing documentation such as PQQs, ITNs, Heads of Terms, and contracts.
  • Delivering Insight & Analysis: Conduct rigorous analysis to generate insight, inform decision-making, and support change.
  • Advising on Contract Management: Help clients define operating models to ensure effective delivery and value realisation from supplier relationships.
  • End-to-End Transformation Support: Work with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate procurement into broader transformation programmes and business cases.
  • Client & Supplier Engagement: Build trusted relationships with clients and third parties, including HMG suppliers.
  • Collaboration & Innovation: Work closely with internal teams, including Digital Strategy, Cyber Security, and Data Analytics, to offer holistic, tech-enabled solutions.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in complex public procurement environments—Defence, wider Government or critical national infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of relevant UK procurement regulations and commercial frameworks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, compelling deliverables
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality outputs under pressure
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
  • A collaborative and inclusive mindset—able to build strong relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
