A high-performing and recently transformed public sector procurement function is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join its growing team. This opportunity sits at the heart of one of the UK’s most critical infrastructure organisations, offering meaningful work, visible impact, and the chance to work alongside some of the most talented procurement professionals in the sector.

This role will focus on a broad portfolio of indirect categories including HR, Professional Services, Marketing, Facilities and more. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded commercial operator, confident managing a diverse spend portfolio and engaging with senior stakeholders across multiple business areas.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across a range of indirect categories (Professional Services, Facilities, HR & Marketing etc.)
  • Deliver end-to-end procurement activity both within the framework of public sector regulations as well as creating innovative category strategies to deliver value and support organisational goals
  • Build and manage key supplier relationships to drive long-term value and performance
  • Support multiple business functions with market insight, procurement best practice, and innovation
Required Background:
  • Demonstrable strategic sourcing experience across multiple indirect categories, ideally having managed two or more of the Professional Services, Facilities, Marketing or HR categories
  • A strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks and legislation, ideally with training or awareness of the new Procurement Act
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, supplier management, and strategic planning
