+ About the role
Cook Brown Building Control Services operate as a Registered Building Control Approver, with the aim of providing a high-quality service to ensure a healthy and safe environment whilst assisting clients throughout the construction process. It is set up as a commercial business to deliver a quality-based Building Control Service to external clients in a competitive arena.
The Service is divided into six technical teams, each responsible for a geographical area – Bristol and South West, Tewkesbury, Birmingham, London, South Wales and our north of England team, together with centralised administration support team.
You will be responsible for managing technical staff covering a diverse domestic and commercial caseload working at our two Midlands regions offices (Birmingham and Tewksbury) to ensure compliance with the Operational Standard Rules, Professional Conduct Rules for RBCA’s and Code of Conduct for RBI’s. As well as providing top quality building control services on your own portfolio of projects.

+ Ensure the region is managed effectively to deliver company objectives and goals
+ Take an active role within the senior management team
+ Delivering a professional Registered Building Control Approver service to our clients
+ Project management of workload
+ Act as a senior mentor
+ Act as a principle point of contact for surveyor’s technical queries
+ Assist with continual training of RBI’s to upgrade their class of registration
+ Advising on fee quotes
+ Checking of plans for compliance with the Building Regulations
+ Carry out site inspections to ensure works are carried out in accordance with the Building Regulations
+ Assist with general queries and advise to customers
+ Achieving and/or retaining the appropriate Class and Sub Class of Registered Building Inspector
+ Undertaking all duties and activities in accordance with Cook Brown quality manual, standard operating procedures, technical memorandums and Registered Building Inspector code of conduct
