We’re supporting the growth of an advanced engineering team with the addition of a Principal Mechanical Engineer. This is a key technical leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex design challenges, shaping innovative solutions, and mentoring others.
Working across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to in-service support you will play a pivotal part in delivering high-integrity handling systems used in demanding environments.
Responsibilities:- Lead on complex mechanical design and technical decision-making.
- Act as the key technical authority across multiple projects.
- Mentor and support junior engineers while ensuring engineering excellence.
- Engage with suppliers, clients, and internal teams to deliver robust solutions.
- Support innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
- 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, including design ownership.
- Proven ability to lead technically and influence cross-functional teams.
- Degree qualified; Chartered status preferred.
- Strong experience with 2D/3D CAD tools and engineering standards.
- Eligible for UK SC Clearance.
Location: Newcastle - 3 days in office.
