DSV is recruiting for a Weekend Cover Team Lead at Mercia Park. This role will be responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Management Team with day-to-day warehouse operations, managing a team of operators, and ensuring efficient operations to meet business targets.
- Providing line management, coordinating workloads, supporting team performance, monitoring issues, and ensuring KPIs and quality standards are met.
- Developing the team, focusing on performance, support, safety, and fostering a positive work culture.
Additional duties include:
- Assisting in running an efficient warehouse to meet operational and customer demands.
- Training new warehouse operatives.
- Maintaining accurate inventories and stock movements.
- Participating in stock takes and ensuring systems are up-to-date.
- Proposing system improvements and resolving warehouse issues.
- Producing reports, planning capacity, and ensuring health & safety standards.
- Managing equipment, security, cleanliness, and acting as cover for management when needed.
People Management
- Managing attendance, communicating priorities, reporting progress, liaising with customers and suppliers, and ensuring safety and compliance.
- Engaging with the team, contributing to development, and participating in HR processes such as grievances and welfare meetings.
Experience & Skills
- Proven supervisory experience, with strong communication, IT, planning, and attention to detail skills.
- Qualifications in warehousing, safety, or supervisory roles are advantageous.
- Knowledge of health & safety, security, lean techniques, and forklift operation is beneficial.
