Monmouth Small Animal Hospital began in 1989. In 2007, we expanded our business with a major remodel, doubling the size of our practice to include 3 exam rooms, a large lobby, and a surgery suite with an attached treatment/pre-op/post-op room. Today, our full-service veterinary team cares for a range of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and beyond.

Our practice is excited to add another veterinarian to our team to continue our growth! We offer numerous opportunities for doctors to enhance their skills and develop professionally. We pride ourselves on providing top-quality recommendations and educating our clients to be empowered pet owners. We encourage doctors of all experience levels to apply and will gladly mentor new graduates.

If you are interested in surgery, reproduction, dentistry, and client communication, this is the place for you! We perform a variety of soft tissue surgeries, C-sections, and orthopedic surgeries. We see a diverse range of medical cases, including theriogenology, and we are one of the few reproduction specialists in the area. Our practice is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy, and we are willing to acquire any additional equipment you may need.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
