About Filament
We are a product design engineering agency specializing in creating innovative solutions for clients across manufacturing, consumer electronics, consumer products, medical devices, and small appliance industries. We are seeking a Sales Executive to support and expand our commercial activities — someone who understands the unique rhythm of an agency environment and knows how to turn relationships into revenue-generating projects.
About the role
As Sales Executive, you will be responsible for executing a clearly defined growth strategy — targeting identified Ideal Client Profiles (ICPs) across key industries and leveraging a comprehensive sales toolkit, including updated positioning, service outlines, and case studies. You will focus on generating new opportunities, manage inbound inquiries, building relationships, managing client conversations, scoping projects, and driving contracts to close. You will also support drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) and be expected to meet individual sales targets. You will report into the Head of Strategy, and be working primarily with senior decision-makers in R&D and Marketing, representing the agency's offerings with confidence and professionalism. This role will require someone proactive, relationship-driven, and highly organized, capable of maintaining momentum on business development initiatives in a fast-moving agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and Follow-Up: Maintain and execute outreach campaigns and ensure timely follow-up on inbound leads
- Implement Sales Strategy: Execute a defined business development plan targeting specific industries and client profiles
- Generate New Leads: Pursue new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, and referrals
- Scope Projects and Draft Proposals: Collaborate with internal teams to scope projects, draft compelling SOWs, and align deliverables with client expectations
- Negotiate and Close Deals: Manage pricing discussions, proposal revisions, and contract finalization to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Engage Senior Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with senior leaders (VPs, Directors, Heads of R&D and Marketing, Startup founders) to position the agency’s offerings
- Report and Forecast Sales Activity: Track sales activities using CRM systems and provide regular updates on pipeline status and sales forecasts
- Meet individual sales targets and contribute to team goals
Requirements
- Experience in a commercial, business development, or account management role, preferably within an agency environment or within design, engineering, innovation, manufacturing or related services.
- Experience selling services into R&D, product development, and marketing functions in larger organisations
- Familiarity with industries such as manufacturing, consumer electronics, consumer products, medical devices, white goods, or small appliances
- Strong understanding of design project scoping, SOW writing, and agency operations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving business development activities
- Confident working independently to implement a set strategy and meet clear goals
- Experience working with CRM platforms, preferably Pipedrive
What We Offer
- Performance-based incentives
- Flexible working environment
- A sales toolkit to work with — no "building from scratch"
- Opportunity to work with an ambitious team shaping innovative products
