HomeServe are currently recruiting for a UX/UI Designer to join the Digital Delivery Team in Walsall. If you have a strong portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of web design knowledge and expertise with data driven, template based websites then this could be the role for you! Also someone who is experienced at creating wireframes, user flows, site maps and UI designs, showing a strong understanding of design fundamentals We work in a hybrid way, with a requirement to travel into our Walsall office twice a week to work with the team. With that in mind you will be located within a convenient commute to Walsall. The Digital Delivery Team is accountable for the delivery of digital activity across HomeServe Membership Ltd, including strategy, transformation, new functionality, maintenance and optimisation. The team strives to evolve our core digital capability, transforming the organisation to embrace and drive its adoption as a digital first organisation. Formed in a matrix structure across Product, Change, Technology and Digital Optimisation, the team is accountable for building compelling online capability and journeys across the digital estate, in order to deliver the very best outcomes for our Customers and the Company. ROLE PURPOSE The UX / UI Designer will lead the creation of new user journeys across HomeServe UK’s digital assets, in line with best practice digital standards and brand guidelines. As a key member of an established digital delivery team, the UX / UI Designer will be pivotal in delivering an improved customer experience and increased performance of HomeServe’s digital journeys. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Gather, manage and deliver all user journey requirements related to our investment in digital capability Collaborate with UX colleagues, scrum teams and other key stakeholders to define and solve problems in line with business outcomes Translate insights from user research, CRO testing, GA analysis and wider insight projects into actionable outcomes via a range of design patterns and skills Bring journeys & requirements to life by creating sketches, wireframes, interactive experiences, UI designs and HTML / CSS prototypes Ensure all solutions are intuitive and user-led, to drive improvements in engagement, conversion and brand advocacy Present work, clearly articulating to stakeholders and developers your design rationale Work alongside scrum teams to build solutions matching the approved designs, using HTML, CSS, Javascript Ensure adequate testing of front end solutions are completed Along with UX colleagues, own the Digital Style Guide standards document and keep up to date Act as a UX & UI subject matter expert, supporting digital colleagues with queries and keeping up with industry best practices Adhere to brand guidelines, web accessibility & user experience guidelines in all work produced To be successful in this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes: Essential: Excellent understanding of user centred design principles; with a proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale Solid experience in creating wireframes, user flows, site maps and UI designs, showing a strong understanding of design fundamentals Understanding of the importance of feedback and grasps that design is not done in isolation Strong portfolio that demonstrates a broad range of web design knowledge and expertise with data driven, template based websites Excellent communicator with the ability to reason and negotiate, using evidence and data to defend your work in the face of challenge In-depth knowledge of best practices with regard to web standards, usability and accessibility, raising the design bar with functional and modern UI Proficient with design tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud) Able to problem solve, using data and insight to inform and support your ideas Evidence of a strong customer focus in everything that you do Meticulous attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team Desirable: Experience and understanding of general insurance products and / or working in a regulated business Experience working in an agile delivery team Advanced Javascript, HTML & CSS coding knowledge and professional experience Understanding of AB testing and CRO testing softwares, e.g Web Trends Optimise An understanding of SEO and how this relates to the customer journey and organic performance
