Electroverse is a multifunctional team made up of product, development, commercial, operations, marketing, partnerships and more - all focused together on making Octopus the go-to name in EV charging. And we’re looking for smart individuals with an interest in the space who can help us make it happen.

We’re looking for someone who’s passionate about code, curious, and eager to learn. You’ll be working alongside the backend team that provides services for our Electroverse ecosystem in the electric vehicle and electrification space with focus on developing the core functionality of our platform, and helping us build better integrations with our data providers. This role supports learning on the job; if you don’t feel like you meet all the requirements to a strong level, but have the motivation and drive with a good foundation, this role will allow you to hone your skills and we offer capacity for this.

What you'll do

• Help us improve the core product, developing and maintaining the API integrations with our data providers.
• Help us onboard new partners, acting as the technical point of contact within the team and debugging unexpected issues.
• Develop our in-house solution for integrations using the OCPI protocol and tools for enhancing data insights.
• Monitor, analyse, and improve the existing connections and integrations, while also enhancing related tooling and application traceability.
• Work as part of a larger cross functional team to deliver best quality product for our clients.

What you'll need

• The passion to create something amazing, and the mindset to learn and grow with the company.
• A strong understanding of the Python ecosystem with 3+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs is a must, preferably within the Python / Django / Django-Ninja ecosystems.
• Experience maintaining asynchronous processing systems (AMQP, Celery).
• Experience with serialization and deserialization of data, preferably with DRF or Pydantic.
• Experience with, or understanding of the OCPI protocol, or other protocols used within the EV industry.
• Experience with monitoring and debugging applications and infrastructure.
• An ability to discuss vision and features within a team and propose creative solutions.
• Ability to assist and help external clients with their implementation.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment.
• An ability to write robust and fault-tolerant software.
• Proficient understanding of Git.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of and/or interest in the EV charging industry.
