Offshore Crane Technicians – Flying Squad Basis

Human Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a leading global client operating in the offshore, ports, shipping, and oil and gas industries. They are seeking Offshore Crane Technicians to join their dynamic flying-squad team, working on a rotational basis from home and deploying worldwide. This is an exciting opportunity to work in diverse environments on a broad range of cutting-edge equipment, with full training provided. The company supports the oil and gas sector and is experiencing rapid expansion after securing significant global contracts.

Responsibilities:

  • Commission, maintain, inspect, and service cranes and lifting equipment, both onshore and offshore.
  • Conduct repairs and inspections on various electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Fault-find and troubleshoot electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Interpret and work from engineering diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings to execute tasks accurately.
  • Identify and procure required spare parts.
  • Produce clear, factual, and detailed reports.
  • Develop and implement rigging and lift plans.
  • Ensure strict compliance with site HSEQ requirements and promote a safe working environment.
  • Minimise environmental risks during operations and follow best practices offshore.
  • Provide leadership and supervisory support as needed during projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Apprenticeship or formal qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience working with cranes such as Liebherr, Sparrows, KenzFigee, or NOV.
  • Proficiency in commissioning and fault-finding on electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems and preventative maintenance of cranes.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, including in high-pressure environments.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in offshore conditions.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • IT literacy, including report writing.
  • Valid BOSIET certification.
  • Experience in marine engineering applications is an advantage.
