Barchester Healthcare is seeking a motivated and experienced Deputy Payroll Manager to join their team in Inverness. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 17,000 employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. Main duties of the job:
- Provide support and guidance to the payroll team, deputising for the Payroll Manager in their absence.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management, operational, and support staff, assisting Home Administrators on payroll and system issues.
- Understand and implement company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
- Process RTI Returns and the reconciliation of PAYE.
- Handle P11d expenses and benefits, including company cars.
- Support payroll software upgrades.
- Produce reports on a daily, monthly, and ad hoc basis.
- Support year-end processing as directed by the Payroll Manager.
NEED TO HAVE:
- Professional payroll qualification (CIPP Diploma/Degree or equivalent).
- Extensive payroll knowledge and experience of processing large volume payrolls.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Report writing experience (Crystal reports or equivalent).
- Accounting experience/use of accounting systems.
- Excellent IT literacy and PC skills including Excel.

To be successful in this role, you will need a professional payroll qualification (CIPP Diploma/Degree or equivalent), extensive payroll knowledge and experience of processing large volume payrolls, previous supervisory experience, report writing experience (Crystal reports or equivalent), and accounting experience/use of accounting systems. Excellent IT literacy and PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, are also essential.
