We’re working with a long-established, globally recognised manufacturing business based in Southend. With over 60 years of heritage and a reputation for craftsmanship and innovation, they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Finance Manager to play a key role in their continued growth.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded finance professional to join a dynamic and collaborative team. Reporting directly to the board, you’ll take full ownership of the month-end process, support operational teams, and help drive financial performance across the business.
You’ll be part of a small but impactful finance team, managing one direct report and working closely with production and delivery teams to ensure robust financial controls and insightful reporting. As a hands-on and collaborative approach is needed this will require someone who can be in the office 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities:- Full ownership of the month-end process and preparation of board-level management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and salary journals
- Revenue and cost recognition, WIP management, and variance analysis
- Departmental margin analysis and financial commentary
- Payroll, VAT returns, and intercompany reconciliations
- Oversight of AP/AR, cashflow, and treasury management
- Project cost reporting and financial oversight of production budgets
- Preparation of statutory accounts and support with budgeting and forecasting
- Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent experience)
- Strong Excel and systems skills
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage non-financial stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
