We are working on behalf of a friendly, well-established haulage company based on the outskirts of Ipswich who are looking for a Transport Manager to join their team!
With over 40 years in the industry, and a passion for ensuring responsibility to the environment, our client is a leading provider in distribution, container transport, hazardous cargo, and flat trailer services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead the scheduling and dispatching a fleet of HGVs on a daily basis.
- Support a team of HGV drivers in line with Company values.
- Develop the customer base to increase weekly vehicle revenue.
- Track the performance and profitability of operations against financial targets.
- Promote the Company services and be a brand ambassador.
- Ensure vehicle revenues and customer service levels are maintained.
- Safety, health and compliance (Driver hours, WTD).
Experience Required :
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in commercial operations, preferably in a supply chain or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of pallet networks and / or general distribution.
- Transport Management CPC.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
