Established in 1982, Halcyon Gallery is a leading international art gallery specialising in modern and contemporary art. With locations on Bond Street and at Harrods, Knightsbridge, Halcyon Gallery showcases art from emerging and established artists including Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Bob Dylan and Dominic Harris. We are looking for experienced, proactive and dedicated art technicians for our London galleries.
Job responsibilities:
- Hanging artwork using a variety of installation methods on various wall compositions
- Handling all artwork and installations extremely carefully and with due consideration
- Packing and unpacking artwork for onward shipping, including crates
- Stock management
- Administration of artwork using our database (training provided)
- Logging and reporting any damaged pieces whether damaged in the gallery or before arrival
- Delivering art to customer sites
- Gallery appearance and daily maintenance/re-hanging as needed
It may be necessary to work weekends and/or long hours on occasion.
Qualifications:
It is essential that you have handled, hanged and installed artwork previously; we cannot consider candidates without this experience of at least 3 years.
Ideally candidates will have achieved an A-level standard of education at a minimum, but the most important attribute is experience in hanging and installing artwork.
Additional Information:
A driving license is extremely beneficial but not essential. Knowledge of, and qualifications in, using forklift trucks, WAV machines and other warehouse machinery is useful but not essential.
