Platform Back-End Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Back-End Engineer to join our growing development team. You will work on a system that utilizes PHP Symfony-based logic and communicates via REST APIs. This role is ideal for a motivated developer with a strong understanding of back-end development principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality, scalable solutions. As part of the team, you will collaborate closely with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain back-end services that power our applications. Location Bath, UK or Tallinn, Estonia Responsibilities Develop and maintain the back-end system using PHP Symfony framework. Design, implement, and optimize REST APIs for seamless communication between systems. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices. Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure optimal application performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver features on time. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge. Work on optimizing system performance and scalability. Contribute to the overall architecture and technical direction of the platform. Skills & Experience Skills: HTML5 SQL PHP NodeJS Git Symfony/Laravel Good to know: GraphQL Docker Vue.js Python Experience: 3+ years of experience in back-end development, focusing on PHP and Symfony. Strong understanding of REST API design and development. Experience with databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimization.
