We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join Reuters Events, a fast-growing conferencing and events business within Thomson Reuters. You’ll play a crucial role in partnering with clients and securing sponsorship packages on our Technology and Artificial Intelligence portfolios of events. Reuters Events combines Reuters' globally trusted brand, scale, and editorial excellence with a leading portfolio of B2B events. We provide content-led conferences for professionals in various industry sectors including energy, pharmaceutical, automotive, insurance, finance, and legal, to name a few! We aim to deliver strategic business intelligence and foster relationships that safeguard success at leading organizations worldwide.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager at Reuters Events, you will:
- Work collaboratively with other executives in your industry sector to sell tailored sponsorship packages to global brands.
- Use your strong written communication skills to convey value propositions to international clients.
- Be consultative with your clients, offering solutions that meet their sponsorship needs.
- Stay informed about new markets and industry trends, including current affairs, technological developments, and industry changes.
- Collaborate closely with our Conference Production team to identify target audiences and maximize conference success.
About You
You’re suited for the Business Development Manager role if you have:
- Experience in the events industry, particularly in selling sponsorship packages.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable representing the Reuters brand and engaging with industry leaders, including crafting compelling copy and building relationships with C-level executives.
- Proven B2B sales and new business development experience, ideally in events, conferences, or publishing.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of succeeding both independently and within a team.
- A desire to grow and develop your skills, supported by our uncapped commission scheme.
- The ability to adapt to market changes and communicate solutions effectively over various communication channels.
