Are you a forward-thinking leader with a flair for management and a passion for helping others? Location: Emstrey Crematorium & Cemetery, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. We are seeking a dynamic and inspiring Business Leader to join our team. You will be responsible for a range of business management activities - including driving growth, overseeing daily operations, managing a P&L, developing your team, and making a profound impact on the communities we serve.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A strategic thinker with a passion for leading and developing people.
  • Comfortable with all aspects of people management: conducting 121s, annual reviews, employee relations, and managing holiday rotas.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to connect with people from all walks of life, with a natural empathy and desire to make a difference.
  • Embody our vision, values, and leadership behaviours as a role model for your team.
  • Being truly multi-skilled - covering other on-site duties such as cremations, chapel & administrative responsibilities, as well as the sale of Memorials.
  • Willing to work flexibly - including occasional weekends, early mornings, and evenings on a rota basis.
  • Consistently deliver exceptional customer service to our families, funeral directors, and community.
  • Innovate and enhance practices within your site and the broader division.
  • Monitor customer feedback and uphold the highest health and safety standards.
  • Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and growing a business.
  • Adaptability, comfortable with the varied and unique demands of our industry.
  • Previous experience in the bereavement sector is beneficial but not essential.
  • A true community focus with a genuine passion for community engagement and building strong local relationships.
  • Compassionately commercial, seek out new opportunities and build relationships within and beyond the usual catchment area.
