Office attendance: 3 days a week in office. Our client is looking for an ambitious and motivated DevOps Engineer to join their growing team. As the first dedicated DevOps engineer in the company, you will play a key role in shaping and defining the future of our DevOps function. You will have the opportunity to extend the foundations of our DevOps processes and help scale our operations, while working with modern cloud technologies like AWS.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, taking ownership of secure CI/CD pipelines
- Automate infrastructure with IaC tools like Terraform
- Monitor and improve system reliability, availability, and performance
- Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth deployment and operations
- Work with AWS and complimentary tooling to deploy, configure, and manage infrastructure
- Write and maintain scripts (e.g., in Bash or Python) to automate manual tasks and improve the efficiency of operations
- Ensure currency of key software products, such as mySQL and Posit (RStudio)
- Develop automation solutions to streamline infrastructure management and deployments
Your Experience:
- At least 2 years experience in a DevOps or systems administration role, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, software package maintenance and automation
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, with experience in patching and administration
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub and integrating automation testing into the pipeline
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python for task automation
- Strong understanding of security best practices for web applications, including SSL, firewall configuration, and user authentication
