Global Investment Bank is currently looking for an experienced valuation controller to join their London team. This role has been created through an internal move and is an ideal opportunity for a Valuation controller who is keen to work in a broader finance role for a high profile equities desk.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Prime Financing CFO and Swaps and Prime Product Leads and assist in supporting, coaching and development of the broader Prime Financing team.
- Responsible for control oversight on new products and initiatives by Trading Desks.
- Point of contact for Prime Financing Front Office to explain and challenge their P&L and Valuations metrics.
- Responsible for transaction reviews and implementing business initiatives for the desk.
- Represent Prime Financing with senior stakeholders across Legal Entity Control, Accounting Policy, Capital Management, Regulatory Reporting, Liquidity and Treasury.
- Challenging and improving controls, processes, applications and data sources across the team.
- Lead role in supervisory review and governance processes and ownership of a range of Regulatory disclosures.
- Supporting the team in aspects of P&L and Balance Sheet substantiation and delivery of financial metrics regarding business performance to senior management.
- Collaborate across the team/s on projects and initiatives.
- Production and monitoring of Daily and Monthly KPI’s.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a valuation control (IPV) role covering an Equity Finance desk (Prime Financing or Equity Swaps) – Essential.
- Prior experience in Product Control – highly preferred.
- Qualified Accountant – Ideal but not essential.
- Strong control mindset.
- Proven experience of initiating and identifying areas of process improvements.
- Degree educated.
This is a high profile role for the desk and will involve regular interaction with key stakeholders across the business including front office traders, it is therefore important that you have strong interpersonal skills. The company offers a hybrid flexible working environment with 3 days in the office and realistic career progression opportunities to Director level in the future. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role so it is essential you have prior right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
