The Global Insights and Analytics Director owns the Insights and Analytics function and capability at Tate & Lyle and is responsible for leading the Global and Regional Insights team. This team leadership role is responsible for developing Tate & Lyle’s insights and analytics capability into an industry-leading offering, helping to identify current and future growth opportunities. Using a range of research and data & analytics approaches, this role develops an outside-in view of the world that delivers thought-provocation at all levels of the business and informs business strategy. The success of this role will not only be on content but the ability to influence and impact others in the business through leadership and clarity of actions.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the development of ingredient insight & analytics strategy: Own the global Annual Strategic Research plan and development of the T&L proprietary ingredients compendium, identify opportunities for the business through addressing consumer, customer, market, and industry ingredient trends.
- Define research approaches, processes, and tools which proactively identify ingredient growth opportunities for customers and Tate & Lyle products and NPD.
- Create a culture where the consumer and customer needs and challenges are within every element of Tate & Lyle’s value propositions (AVP) and platform/category marketing campaigns.
- Own Global Consumer & Ingredient foresight trends and thought leadership development: Own the development and continuous improvement of Tate & Lyle’s Food & Beverage trends.
- Identify global opportunity (and compete) spaces for future growth via combining multiple data sources to support global strategic priorities. Author and publish thought leadership based upon proprietary research, in collaboration with business partners to further the reputation of Tate & Lyle (and for Marketing purposes).
- Provide leading-class expertise in data, analytics, and insights: Own the selection and execution of the agency analytics ecosystem, including key data partners (Nielsen, Mintel, and Global Data) and research partners to extract maximum value to the business.
- Define and build the research and analytics toolkit for the future (including use of AI).
- Provide expert oversight to the data infrastructure, harmonisation, and automation programme across the broader Tate & Lyle Digital Roadmap.
- Elevate organisational capabilities and connections across the regions and globally: On a three-year horizon, proactively define the Insights & Analytics functional and organisational capability requirements to become industry-leading class.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agency partners to develop global capability training programmes. Own the ongoing roll-out of AVP training.
- Lead a culture of measurement and evaluation and identification of learnings to fuel better consumer and customer-led propositions.
- Develop six direct reports to achieve their functional and leadership potential.
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in shaping business strategy and leading analytics and insights programmes.
- Extensive experience in primary research using a variety of methodologies and partners.
- Experience in capability identification and development.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and timelines from multiple stakeholders within a complex organisation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence C-Suite decisions.
- Proven track record in creating, leading, and developing high-performing teams.
